Cut/buffer/increase ratio?

I am amazed at the number of qualifiers some of you manage to play.
I have two left that will get me to 8 for the year before they stop for the winter.

where are you a member? 2 more comps left this year? we have approx 20 left between now and the end of october

There are actually 3 weekend comps left but I can only play in 2.

I have no idea if there are any weekday comps since I can't play in them anyway.

My club is in my signature, is it not showing? (I'm on mobile not sure if it is posting or not!)

Just been through our calendar, by my count we had 17 weekend qualifiers this year, and 6 weekday. Season starts last weekend in March and runs til last weekend in September.
Miss a few through holidays and other commitments and you don't have many left!

The scores for individuals almost certainly follow a skewed distribution with a wider section higher than the median score. It is much more likely someone will score 10 shots above handicap than 10 below.

Agreed.
The degree of skew will generally reflect handicap category, and in maintaining handicap relative the the normal distribution curve the buffer works to maintain its position.

I can see you are Bristol. I'm at the players, hence why i asked.

In my view, no excuse for a club not having at least one medal/stableford every weekend.

Just out of interest and not necessarily with regard to my ratios, what ratios would be flagged up at the annual review for a cut or an increase....?

73 qualifiers this year up to last Sunday.

5 cuts, 28 buffers, 40 increases - 7%, 38%, 55%.

Back to qualifiers yesterday - shockingly bad medal round with N/R but saved by CSS 75 (RO) so no increase. Best score for Cats 1/2/3 was 77 - a combination of very strong wind, very fast greens and very difficult pin positions.
