Our club has a gala weekend every April with one day set aside for Powerplay golf. Sadly I've missed it the last two years, so I entered this time round and was really looking forward to it. Now I thought as it was over 18 holes normal PP rules would've extended with a maximum total of 8 PPs available. Strategy would obviously be key in choosing holes wisely. Instead what proceeded was thoughtless madness!!!!
Essentially at our club there is no need to make any decision until you are on the green, when in 99% of incidents the normal flag is ignored. You see every PP hole had an adjusted Par so if you got GIR you wanted more points and if you missed GIR it might be your only way to score. In our fourball out of 72holes only two went in the normal flag. Everything else was PP.
Good fun with some crazy pin placements on slopes where a miss never left a tap in. Anyway has anyone played the bona fide version and how enjoyable was it?
