Matlock’s ok
I play it every other year. I enjoy it, it’s very friendly and the breakfast is cracking.
I wouldn’t want to be a member there, but will happily play it.

I only played it off the winter tees, so it was very short and therefore I don’t think I got a proper picture of the course.
I’d like to go back and play in spring/summer

I forgot, I also played Worksop.
Interesting course but in very poor condition when we were there.

Not many and no new ones.

Clandon (Surrey, UK)
Metropolitan (Western Cape, South Africa)
King David Mobray (Western Cape, South Africa)
Gansbaai (Western Cape, South Africa)
Langebaan (Western Cape, South Africa)
Lanzarote (Lanzarote, Spain)
Sandmoor (Yorkshire, UK)
Clovelly (Western Cape, South Africa)

What two were they?
Sidmouth - a couple of decent holes, but overall just too hilly for my liking. We played it early in the season when the fairways were still holding. I imagine when they are baked hard the ball just runs down the hill and into the rough. Also, the day we played was really misty so we couldn’t even see the views.

Weston Super Mare - I was expecting a links course. Not sure what it is but it’s not my idea of what a links course should be.

Having played them both and Weston a few times and recently, couldn’t agree more.

With the cost of green fees, travelling and overnight accommodation only going one way I can see my numbers getting smaller.
There are an awful lot of courses charging way above their real value
Same here, even though my numbers for this year were pitiful. Was just nice to get consistently out at my own club!

Not too many this year. Only three new courses.

St Ives
Ely
On par Ely
Cambridge Lakes
Cambridge Meridian
Bar Hill
Lakeside Lodge
Sherwood Forest
Thetford
Wellingborough
Brabazon
