Following on from my earlier post about our course record being broken at the weekend, what are the details about your course record. What is it, how long has it stood, is it held by anyone famous, etc?

Ours is 65 (7 under) and has stood for 2 days. Held by a current club member who recently became club champion, +2 handicap.

No idea. They reset them when they changed a par 4 to a par 3 a couple of years ago. And they were recorded on IG, but that reset when our course ratings changed last year. So it currently says the course record off yellows is about 79. 😂

62 -10 (professional)

63-9 (Amateur)

I was ahead of course record pace in the club championship (-6 through 10 holes) but then melted under the pressure!

Good question, I think ours is 62, nine under, by a guy whose been club champion 2 or maybe 3 times.
In the round he hit his tee shot oob, over the wall, at the Par3 16th, almost holed his reload and tapped in for a 4
KenL can correct me if this has been beaten.

I've no idea if there's an AM course record, I suppose there must be, i'll need to ask

Pro record is 62 on par 72 by Sami Valimaki 3 years ago on day 1 of DPWT event (weirdly he didn't break par on next 3 rounds)

I thought 63, by the person you quoted.

I think this score was repeated in the 2013 final qualifying for the Open.

Our amateur record is a 3 under par 67.

Set by one of the club members playing off about 5 h'cap maybe in 2008. Was equaled a couple of months ago by another low handicapper (who won our Club Championships yesterday).

I do know of a pro who claimed to have shot a 63 round the course, in a pro-am, when it first opened in the 1990's but there is no official record of this.

Could be Ken the old memory's fading a bit, I was in the game behind him
Was it not the case that the Aussie Pro's score became the course record as the course had to be lengthened to host the Open Qual, hence the new tees at 2,6,11 & 17
I thought DM shot 62 on the pre lengthened course but I could be wrong

Ours is 60 which is 9 under , we're a fairly short course. The man who shot it has a pretty impressive amateur record and holds several other course records.

I think the cards are on the lounge walls. Have a look before it is bulldozed. 🤣

62 (-10) set by some bloke called Ian Woosnam. Birdied 8 holes in a row from 4th to 11th. Amateur record is 65 (-7) by James Mason. Ladies record is 66 (-8) by Rachel Gourlay

Current club I have no idea. I was looking at the weekend to see if I could see cards anywhere on the wall but couldn't.

At my old club the amateur record is by the lad I play with every week, he shot a 63 (-7) a few years ago. Last Saturday he was -4 after 7 and his birdie putt on 8 lipped out. As it was on it's way I thought it was in and said "Course record is in trouble here" but he never holed a single putt after that. Maybe I should have kept my mouth shut. 😂
