Course closed - how's your faring?

It's that time at Brampton I'm afraid Amanda. Played yesterday and the 4th (SI1) was playing 76 yards onto a temporary green about 5 foot wide. 16 closed for waterlogging and 17 because you can't get to it without 16.

Didn't realised course was closed today. When we tee'd off yesterday Al was going to call everyone in due to the thick fog as you couldn't see 100 yards ahead. I preferred it par par start, then the fog lifted and it was blob blob blob!!

The 4th is a perfect sand wedge for me - nearly holed it on Thursday! I'm struggling to see how the holes that were playable yesterday aren't today. 6 and 14 are wet fairways but the rest of the course was ok...

Time to dust off the smart card for you guys! If the trips not too much welcome at AVGC, at least you have a handful or relatively local options on it

Yep already on that :-) Played Ramsey last week which to be fair was wetter than ours despite what the pro said about course condition. Location of Brampton is so favourable or St Ives would be looking a tempting option as it's really improving and tends to stay open apart from snow.

No issues at my regular local place, however father in law is a member down at Southwick (just outside Portsmouth) and they've been on winter tees for a month or so and a few weeks ago banned all trollies unless there was a medical reason!

All open with fully booked tee times so I struggled to get on somewhere yesterday but found one at last... glorious weather, got sunburn on my ears & neck, sweating like a sweaty thing that's sweating more than it usually sweats, regretted wearing a black shirt a few holes in, buggy kicking up some dust on the paths but other than that course was great, greens were so true and must have been near double figures on stimp, due some decent rain this weekend which will be most welcome

I promise to keep these kinds of posts to a minimum over your winter... no more than one a week!

I see Band Aid have rerecorded their song over the weekend with modern pop stars such as 1 Direction, Ed Sheeran and Vera Lynn, to benefit the victims of the terrible Ebola crisis.

But if Bob would have known the terrible situation you are in he may have thought twice about where the money went. Stay strong, we all thinking of you.;)

Very rough around our place with 4 million worm cast thrown in for good measure. Played another local course last week in light trousers and came off with a few specks of mud on the bottom. Played our place on Saturday in waterproof trousers and came off with mud up to the knees. Won't be renewing this year as it's a year on year problem that the owner does not address.

We were fully open today except for the par 3 ninth, which is down in a little valley and access down the steep paths can be dangerous during the winter. All the other holes were normal tees and greens.

I was looking forward to playing on Wednesday but it looks like the rain we have had all day today will put paid to that.
Course has been a bit "iffy" over the last few weeks, three fairways were out of action (8th/9th and 10th) but these opened up again over the weekend. One temporary green (8th) is listed on the website today, but as I say, it's hosed it down all day (and is still coming down in torrents) so I cant see any golf being played this week.
I must be a Jonah. Ever since I've joined nearly a month ago, it has pee'd down every day

Haha I scanned over this comment and saw the sunburn part which made me double take.

Sorry to hear it Amanda, this is when you really cant beat being at a club like the Belfry... They have so much to pump into there courses they are always in great nick with not a temp green or crappy winter tee in sight.

Hope the weather allows your course to open up soon
