Surprised to hear our course is fully closed today. Played it over the weekend and some wet spots plus 16 and 17 closed but nothing too bad and we're not talking casual water around the place. Some rain through the night but nothing substantial so surprised we're closed. They have mowed temps for every hole so not sure how we've gone from fully open (except 2 notable holes) without trolley/buggy bans to fully closed. All other courses in the area remain open.

Hopefully open tomorrow when we have a comp.

How is your course faring so far this "winter"!

Sorry to hear youre already suffering Amanda :(

Ours has held up remarkably well considering. They had 22mm down friday morning but the courses was dried out again by saturday. Few spots still a bit soggy and starting to show signs of where everyone is walking but otherwise better than would be expected. Not sure it could take too much more before coming too boggy though

I played ours yesterday and it was surprisingly dry. I can't remember any standing water at all to be honest. Even our 9th green (which is closed all winter due to the amount of water it holds) was dry. I know this because I hit the middle of it, which is something I struggle to do all season when it's open.

only time ours is closed if its under 3 feet of snow or there has been a very high tide and the sea in lapping onto the course, last time that happened was the 80's.

What winter is that then?

Played yesterday and the course was in superb condition with normal tees and greens - and I managed to buffer despite a 9 on the card in a medal round.

My course is nice and dry but the greens are in poor condition, I played yesterday and never seen so many unrepaired pitch marks.

My thoughts precisely and it's disappointing. Have to wonder if there's some over protective, "emotional" decision-making from the head greenkeeper!

It's had some days of closure like Saturday when it absolutely lashed down in the morning, but it opened yesterday and I only took about 3 drops for casual water

Website says we're closed today, but I'm sat in the office anyway! Looks like they'll do similar to last winter when they closed for a couple of days during the week when needed to give it some rest so they can keep it open at weekends.

closed, suffered on Friday from the 1" in 5 hours we had opened partially over weekend but bucketing down again this morning so closed again.
Long term forecasts are good either.

Its been very wet , but we are open , carry only , I played in comp sat with a 1/2 set , made buffer zone and had a 2 so made some cash ...............

The course was fully open yesterday but the top end was showing signs of getting boggy and with a ton of rain falling last night it may not be long before some holes close. On the plus side, the 27 hole set up means that we can create a composite course of the driest holes to make sure that people can still play.

It's that time at Brampton I'm afraid Amanda. Played yesterday and the 4th (SI1) was playing 76 yards onto a temporary green about 5 foot wide. 16 closed for waterlogging and 17 because you can't get to it without 16.

Didn't realised course was closed today. When we tee'd off yesterday Al was going to call everyone in due to the thick fog as you couldn't see 100 yards ahead. I preferred it par par start, then the fog lifted and it was blob blob blob!!

Time to dust off the smart card for you guys! If the trips not too much welcome at AVGC, at least you have a handful or relatively local options on it

All open with fully booked tee times so I struggled to get on somewhere yesterday but found one at last... glorious weather, got sunburn on my ears & neck, sweating like a sweaty thing that's sweating more than it usually sweats, regretted wearing a black shirt a few holes in, buggy kicking up some dust on the paths but other than that course was great, greens were so true and must have been near double figures on stimp, due some decent rain this weekend which will be most welcome

I promise to keep these kinds of posts to a minimum over your winter... no more than one a week!
