Came 3rd (div 3) in a Stableford recently myself and the 4th placed both had 40 points, so presumably I got the third spot on countback. I've no idea how countback works so can someone enlighten me please.

in a stableford, it will be who had the most points on the back 9 holes, if that is tied then it will be the most on the back 6 holes, then the back 3 holes, then the last hole until the tie is broken

Count back in which the last 5 were pars , including a 3 putt par on 17 (very fast greens) might i add... 18 hole marathon not a sprint , does sometimes seem unfair as the comp is over 18 holes not 9/6/ or 3 .. bit like pens in football i supose , ok if ya win by it , bummer if ya loose by it .
