Cost of a new boiler.....

i like your thinking there STEVE,cut out the local business in the town that employs local people, buy the boiler direct from some on-line suppllier, get some jack the lad bloke out of the paper who you probably never see again, why not go the whole hog and get one of our eastern European bods to do it,the guarantee on the boiler has to be signed by a registered person and fitted to their installation guide lines or it is void, this includes flushing the system, fitting a magnetic filter on the system and adding the additives recommended, the first thing they check if something goes wrong is the water in the system,if the balance or condition is wrong they will not repair it or validate the warranty, what do you do then ask the bloke you paid £150 to fit it to come back and pay for a new boiler?

Spot on.

Its not just fit the boiler.

Had a new Baxi fitted 12 months ago, Delighted :). Mega efficient had a massive saving on my bill (mind Worcester was old), any amount of continuous hot water, 10 year warranty, happy to recommend them. Don't bother with British Gas though in my experience, they were double the price, wanted me to assemble fencing around loft entrance etc, etc, waste of time.

We've got a Feroli boiler, three years, going strong, hardly a peep out of it. just the odd switch off and on cure all. Dead cheap too !!!!!

You obviously never read my first post saying make sure you used people who are qualified. Duh I only used registered time served trades, and wouldnt employ anyone without recommendation. But there is money to be saved, years ago evrryone used to used corpy trades to do foreigners. Noe they dont have them its mates of mstes

And who mentioned eastern europeans, im sure there are plenty of british trades ready to earn.
6inch I think you spoke before ur brain was fully engaged this time
