Come On Andy Murray

Agree with that, pleased he won and hope he wins the doubles with Robson, but let's be honest, in tennis the Olympics is an egg and spoon race, doesn't come near a slam

:blah:

I liked your style as forum editor, any chance of a comeback to liven the page up again. Last months full page about crap shoes was the final straw for me.

Back on track, well done Andy, go on Colin say it!!!

Ugh, well... Urgh, arg.. Done.... Spew, hurl, Andy !

God that hurt

Think Andy Murray proved a lot of people wrong today. I agree that the Olympics doesn't compare to a slam but two criticisms of Andy have been that he lacks the temperant to win on the big occasion and that he lacks the talent to beat Federer/Novak/Nadal, especially over 5 sets.

Think he has proved both of those theories conclusively wrong. The run from 2-2 in the 1st to 6-0, 5-2 was exceptional.

Well done Andy!

So pleased Andy has now qualified for englishness for a while. If the tournament was such a dead dog then why did Federer et al bother entering? Fairly sure the appeal of a gold medal had something to do with it. Rather typically all we hear is that Federer couldnt be arsed, rather than Murray played great tennis. Moan muzza,be proud, they all wanted to win it just as much as you.

Shame Andy got dragged down by his English partner in the doubles.

Great win in the singles though.

That would be the 18 year old who went toe to toe with the world no.2 for a set in the heats, playing against the world no.1 in this match. AM and LR had never played together before this tournament and AM had only played 8 mixed doubles tournament matches before this competition, yet they get to the finals. Not bad going in my book.

That's certainly a bite!

Yes they had, that is why LR was selected ahead of Heather Watson whose doubles ranking is actually better.

AM & LR won the Hopman Cup together in Australia in 2010.

But yeah, Dodger went fishing and caught a big un
