Coffee

I am not giving out anymore advice on this forum. After I posted on here last night I asked Missis T for a coffee. She has not put the thing back together again properly after cleaning it last time. Gotta spend an hour this morning trying to fix it 😖

Whittards do a good range of beans at a reasonable set of prices.

Personal favourites are Guatemalan Elephant and Bourbon Espresso. Cafe Parisien is a lovely smooth regular type coffee.

All can be had for around £25 for a large bag and that should keep you going for a while if you are hand grinding.

Am back, there was nothing wrong with the machine. It had been turned off before it went through a proper close down routine. 👍 There brilliant.
PS, I was in Bali last year and they sell them coffee beans that have been crapped out of a pole cat. About £10 a bag. I thought sod that, it could be crap coffee. pardon the pun. Anyway, I went somewhere and saw it for £10 a cup. Anyone tried it. Is it that nice.

I'll save you my backstory but I recommend you look into something called an AeroPress. They look gimmicky but are far from it, they make the best cup of coffee I've been able to make at home, in the office, or on my travels. I use hasbean.co.uk for all my supplies (no connection, they are just the best) and, honestly, the AeroPress has completely revolutionised how I appreciate coffee.

Get one of those, a decent hand grinder, freshly roasted beans and prepare to be astonished at how poor over-the-counter coffee really is.

Fantastic product, especially with some Guatemala Elephant beans

Why is that spammers bump two or three year old topics so they can crowbar links in to whatever they're selling and you all fall for it and just carry on the conversation like nothing happened?

Flipping eck Blue man ave just turned the house upside down looking for the paperwork. It is a Delonghi Magnifica 4200 and still going strong. Got to be honest it is Missis T who makes the coffee. She don't know she is making me one in 10 mins 😉
Ave just asked her if she had the choice now between the delonghi and a pod machine, she would go for the delonghi. The pod one is easier to make and clean. But the delonghi gives you multiple choices of coffee. Both bean and ground. She says the smell when making a cup could sell your house. If it was crap I would tell you.
Hope it helps me man.

Cheers Mr T, really appreciate the effort you went to. The fact it is still going strong after a couple of years is a good sign. My mrs is the coffee lover, I would be quite happy with the Tassimo (apart from the actual overall cost) so I think she will notice the difference in quality, and it might save me a few quid on Costa Fortune if I get her the 4200 and a travel mug ;) Amazon seem to have them cheap (nearly £200 off) so I ordered for Valentines, due to arrive next day/tomorrow.
