Currently Im consuming Tesco's finest Columbian beans.
I do love my bean to cup machine:)
+1 for Tesco finest Colombian.

Daughter recently had a holiday in Indonesia and brought back some Civit coffee beans. They are the ones that have been through the digestive system of a Civit cat. Was not impressed, but on the plus side at least they didn't taste like cat s**t. (Not that I know what cat s**t tastes like).

I’ve ordered online from Rave coffee (based in Cirencester) for a couple of years now and have found them to be consistently good. Quite often try a different single origin beans, but always have an order for 2 x 1kg bags of the Italian Blend.

Buy tea bags and drink tea? Tastes (and smells) much better as well 🫖
I have had tea in three places, not made, presumably, with tea bags, but rather properly brewed.

1. London on holiday.
2. Bermuda on holiday.
3. My favorite Chinese Restaurant, Kowloon on Route 1.

It was/is really good there, but for some reason,
it makes me gag anyplace else.

I've been totally addicted to coffee since I was twelve or thirteen.
Do you have Dunkin Donuts in the UK?
[I'm pretty sure there was one just outside of Windsor Castle several years ago.]
Outstanding coffee. I buy their Keurig cups for home. I assume you have Keurig?

I visited a Dunkin Donuts once. It would have been mid 1980s, in the Boston area.
I can honestly state that it was without doubt the worst coffee I've ever tasted.

I've tried a few subscriptions and always ended up disappointed with the variable consistency and quality.
For the last few months I've bought a kg each of Lavazza Red and Lavazza Barista Intenso then mixed them together in the grinder hopper. Annoyingly, it tastes better than any of the smaller companies I tried to support and is about half the price. And it doesn't clog up the grinder like some of the others did.
Bought a bag a couple of days ago and think it will be my staple from now on apart from when I buy from an independent when we're out and about.

I see the Japanese company Ueshima has just entered the UK market - interesting to see how they compare with the other companies' products.

Since I drink Dunkin Donuts coffee every day of my life,
even if it's Keurig cups at home,
forgive me for being curious.

What coffee, Clive, do you like?

Starbucks, perhaps?
That tastes burnt to me,
don't like it at all,
but I don't know how much visibility it has in the UK.
It is very big here.

FWIW, it helps to think of coffee as a basic ingredient for totally different drinks.

The cup you get from retail chains has nothing but the name in common with a cup extracted from some washed yellow bourbon bean in the small cofffee shop that roasts its own.

Nothing is wrong with liking one or another, just accepting they are totally different drinks.

I quite like DD when in the states but have tried countless more better tasting coffee. Each to their own.

TK Maxx. Where I get my coffee other than Tesco Italian Inspired ground coffee.

1 kilo of 100% arabica beans is usually about £10 - £12. Various brands.
I buy various flavoured ground coffee there as well. One part flavoured to 3 parts straight coffee is about the right mix for me.

Regular, un-flavored, filtered American-style coffee is a basic staple of my life.
I've been drinking it every day of my life since adolescence.
If I try to start a day without it, I'm completely out of sorts.

Once, when I was in hospital
(I know you guys don't say "the hospital" ; just "in hospital" like "in school" or "in church.")
for a procedure, they would only give me decaffeinated coffee.

I was climbing the walls in a panic.
I finally had to have my son sneak a big up of Dunkin Donuts coffee in to me from outside
or I would have checked out of the hospital without undergoing the procedure.

Many Americans simply take this as part and parcel of ordinary living,
but in reality, on a global basis, it ISN'T a basic part of everybody's life.
