Club taking an age to update h/cap

Played in our Presidents day a couple of weeks ago and had an absolute stormer, I won both the division and overall prize by a decent margin. The round itself was a non qualifier however I got an email from HDID saying they had cut me two shots, down to 18.9. I guess they've quite rightly given me an ESR cut. Next day I get another email from HDID saying hcap is back to 20.9 A bit confused so I left it for a few days then popped in the club to check. Sure enough the members sheet has me down as 20.9. Played a bounce game with a mate that afternoon so I decided to put in a supplementary to hopefully sort it out properly. Scored 40 points (off 21) so thought I should get cut, however didn't hear a dicky bid from the club so I emailed the pro last friday to find out what was going on. Get a very apologetic reply promising he will get someone to look at it but there is a 'pile of supplemetarys waiting to be loaded'. Thats over a week, have to say I'm less than impressesed!

Very poor show by the handicap secretary but it's usually an unpaid and time consuming role and there may be other factors here. You do need to know where you stand and what you're officially off though

If it's a non qualifier then your HC shouldn't be touched - ESR is not relevant in this situation

Though you shouldn't need to have it loaded to know your new handicap. As Supplementaries use the SSS, you simply adjust from using the 40 points from 20.9!

As LpP posted, non-qualifying comps don't count - except in extremely rare circumstances! I suspect that the cut to 18.9 was rescinded!

It would seem HDID sent an incorrect email initially thinking the comp was a qualifier.
You cut yourself on the supplementary so although it's nice for the h/cap sec to officially up date your h/cap you actually were cut the minute you finished the last.

Seems its now sorted. Email from HDID saying my HC has gone down to 20.5, so I assume the supplementary has been loaded and the previous cut was done in error. Bit gutted really, I was looking forward to playing off 19 knowing I was only one good round off 18. Oh well, time to feed the horse and dust off the poncho again...
