Can someone please advise the ball park figure for getting a club re-shafted?

A friend has some old clubs that my son could use but the shafts are stiff and full of pitting. So was thinking of getting them re-shafted but wanted to know how much to see if it'd be worth it.

Depending on the shaft you want they all cost different prices but lets say Dynamic gold they should cost 7-10 quid each for the shafts and prob 50 quid for fitting then grips, it'll be expensive. I just paid £200 for 9 irons but they were KBS tours.
I'd leave it and get some second hand from ebay it'll work out a lot cheaper.

Seen a cost of £18 per club advertised,
Is your lad just starting out I got my nephew set up from the golf hq Dothan/persimmon gear cheap but ideal to start with

Yeah, that's what I feared... I was basically getting the clubs for £50 and then the extra for shafting which seems a false economy... ebay is proving problematic in prices rocketing past what I want to spend :-( but I just need to be patient...

No just growing :( he has the young gun clubs that sportshq and the like sell I just feel it's time for him to progress up the club ladder. His teaching pro advises he's on the cusp of being too tall for his current bats but I only want to spend £100-150 max :o

Similar situation I went with half inch shorter clubs from the sports hq as stop gap while he grew into full size, and Santa turned up with some tm burners
Going to have to start planning got a young in of my own 3 in may so first few bats going to be his birthday present, (hope HID) isn't reading! :-)

Maybe not the answer you want but personally I'd be looking to get new or recent 2nd hands. Better forgiveness in the heads, a pay once price too. These old ones may need new shafts and then there may well be the cost of new grips too.

Yes I've thought of that too but still checking out the 2nd hand market still.

Also looking at ladies clubs but my problem is he's a wrong way round golfer and trying to get clubs is a nightmare for juniors/women.

I purchased a set of used rifles a few weeks ago from ebay - £25 with multicompounds already fitted, bought some glue from the pound shop (fake araldite - does the same job) reshafted them in my kitchen using the gas hob and a wet towel to preserve the ferrules and sold my DG shafts for £20 on ebay - took 45 mins and cost me £6 all in. I can talk you through it if you'd like.

crumbs... bit of an undertaking... I've got an electric hob so rules me out :o

How do pros unattached and reattach shafts in the shops if they don't have a gas hob

I have been quoted £35 a club for PX 5.5 and decade grips. PX are more expensive than DG though, I think I could get DG 300`s for about £25 per.
