No I was out with a mate, we played the front 9 and cam off at 6.30 as I had my meeting with the captain.

It was definitely the 5th then. Perfect conditions for that hole yeasterday. I managed to just skim past the bushes on the right and run onto the green. How did you get that close though, wasn't the pin out of sight from the tee, due to the aforementioned bushes? I plan on getting out with Nick sometime in the next few weeks, he's kindly offered to give me some tips (I played the front 9 in 55, so I need some help).

It was a great shot Gary (one of many as he showed me how to play my course!!), I posted two tee shots OOB on the same hole .

I'll be telling your opponent to watch out for your driving but that your putting is questionable on the two footers for eagle!

Nick that sounds good to me, I'll be there at around 5.10-5.15pm if that suits you? If there's a hint of rain though I won't bother. I'll only play at the weekends in the rain as I still need to buy myself some decent waterproofs. I'm afraid I can't play as well as Gary though.

I'm guessing that you hit them over the road?

I was a bit gutted on the 6th as I drove down to the corner but ended up on the right so I couldn't see around the trees and ended up losing my ball in the rough by the 7th tee for the second shot. I need to learn when to play safe.

Shame I couldn't join you and Nick last night Gary, however your iron play is something to behold, I seem to remember you hitting the pin from about 150yds at Woodhall with your 3rd after finding a ditch with your drive (the only one I remember being off line). I must remember that that is what a pitch mark looks like - I don't seem to be making any at the moment.

I wasn't aiming at the flag, just trying to whack it straight! I am a lucky golfer.

indeed - exactly what i was thinking! Not seen such an excellent bit of grass cutting and hole cutting for a while now!
