Cleveland woods/hybrids

Anyone here use Cleveland woods or rescues?

I've used the Cg7 irons for the past 4 years and the 588 wedges for past two years.

Have found the Cleveland products excellent but never tried the woods. They don't seem to be stocked in many places here in Ireland for some reason.
After such a positive experience with the irons/wedges would like to try the woods. A bonus is that that seem much cheaper than other brands.
Could chance a couple of eBay buys but was looking for any feedback first?

Don't go near the classic woods if you fight a hook. Massively toed in.

I have had a Cleveland driver for 10 or more years, firstly a Launcher and for the last year a Cleveland Black 265,both,excellent clubs.

I have a 588 hybrid, absolutely love it. Great off the deck, and so long and easy to hit.

My bad shot is a hook so that doesn't sound good if faces are closed

I had the 3 and 5 woods for a round. At that time I hooking most clubs. The classic woods were nearly boomeranging back to me.

If you want to try a good hookers club, check out the Mizuno mp650 range. They sit a degree or two open and weighted as to not slam closed through impact.

Vastly underrated range and can picked up cheap on ebay.

I have the mashie 3fw in 15.5 and can highly recommend it. I would say the face is pretty neutral, I have hit bad shots in both directions with it

Worth a look and I'm sure you could get one for buttons.

I would LOVE to have matching woods, I really would but my Cobra S3 3 wood is superb, best 2nd hand club I have ever bought and I wonder why ANYONE would have got rid of it.

Have had the Classic driver, 3w + 5w .. loved them all although have moved the driver and 3w on.

As others have said the fairways are very toed-in, so if you hook the ball they're not for you. They are very easy to launch though. Driver goes a country mile and makes a lovely sound through impact.

I've got the CG7s and a Mashie 3-hybrid. I also have CG15 wedges and will soon have a 588 lob wedge.

I think all of my Cleveland clubs are great. The Mashie is a great club although the style won't be to everyone's taste. I'm tempted to try and get hold of one from ebay to replace my 4 iron.

Doesn't mean they are not great clubs - just not marketed as well as others!

I've had an SL290, which worked well for me, and a TL310 that is also a great club. Shaft options in the Classic were pretty good too, so pretty good value - if they suit!

I've been using the classic hybrid off the tee a fair bit and it's pretty dependable. It gets far more use than my Tight Lies fairway, although that may because there only 2 degrees in it (mistake on my part). Bought the XL driver and am happy so far, but it' still early days. Cleveland seem really good value. Awaiting a 56 degree wedge as part of the GM subscription offer as well.

I had an old Cleveland 5 wood which was a really nice club but hadn't even tried one of their woods for years until I got my hands on a Classic driver last year. The Classic really is an awesome bit of kit, I've not upgraded to the XL Custom, but only because I found one with a BlackTie shaft in it.

I too fight a hook and have not had problems with this with either driver, but I've not tried the fairway woods.

I also hook the ball, fault is going too much inside.

The driver however is fantastic when my swing is on, never the clubs fault as it is superb!

Recent swing improvements have seen me start to lose it right and left less.

In my opinion the best - and possibly best full stop - Cleveland woods were the 2009 Launcher series.
So long, so easy to use and with decent shafts.
Not particularly toed-in either.
Quite hard to find nowadays
Very underrated brand

My 3 wood (see sig') if a thing of beauty in my opinion. It goes miles, looks great and is brilliant off the tee.

As per my sig all my top end is Cleveland. They put killer shafts in their products not watered down versions. I have the tour 3 wood classic and it's a beast not toed in at all neither is my 5w mashie, the classic xl is probably the best hybrid I've ever hit.And the driver is lovely also, again the key is the shaft.
My bad shot is a hook as well and no bother here.

I just bought the Classic XL 10.5 and played a round with it for the first time yesterday. Previously used a TM RBZ 10.5, down to 9.5.

Too early to call but initial comparisons are that it launches lower than the TM and is around 10 yards shorter. Dispersion tighter though. Makes a huge "thonk" on impact!

Oh yeah, just remembered (not sure how I forgot really) I also carry a Cleveland halo 17degree hybrid which is absolutely brilliant off the tee or the deck. Easy to hit, decent launch and pretty forgiving for a low launch hybrid. Also, not as hook inducing as a lot of lower lofted hybrids I've tried.
