Hi everyone,

Recently just bought a second hand scotty cameron and vokey wedge off a friend which is a bit rusty, just wondering if anyone has any tips or know of the best possible way of getting rid of the rust without damaging the club? Ive tried warm soapy water with a cloth but hasnt got rid of all the rust :(

Also does anyone use polish on their clubs and recommend any?

Have you tried a bit of soft wire wool? But use plenty of soap with it so it will not scratch. Oh be very very gentle. Have done it on irons ok. Never tried on a putter though.

The guys at the pro shop use a sponge scourer with neat washing up liquid. Both slightly abrasive and seemed to get the rust off without causing visible scratches or damage.

Funny thing that he didn't know the name for the scourer and tried to describe it to me but gave up and went and got one - doubt he's washed many pans !!

That is for irons - not sure about putters.

theres an engineering product called scotchbrite very fine type wire wool wont do any noticeable damage or try wd40 i wouldnt use any antirust product they can be very peneratrive and eat away at the metal,
