The bizarre thing is, I looked at at my grooves today, and none of them could be described as clean, and yet I had acres of draw, and loads of spin. So maybe, when Tiger says he needs to control his spin, what he means is hit it with a filthy club? Steve, don't clean that, I need to check it, not spin it off the green. Just leave it as is.

Who knows?

I'm in the clean it after every shot camp. Wiped with towel and then use a tee to clean the grooves , I even have an inch and a half penknife for those stubborn corners if i've rushed to keep up with play and the mud has dried.
There's always plenty of tome for club cleaning during a round , particularly when waiting for others to play.
My mate laughs at the cleanliness of my gear but then i've never seen him a clean a club or a ball and his irons drive me mad when i look at them.
