Today is the best day of the festive period for me every year. Decorations are down, put away and the house has had a freshen up. Just made a homemade soup with roasted veg, chicken stock, double cream and some bacon lardons crisped up as croutons 
.
Not a hint of festiveness in sight and fresh house ready to start the new year without a hint of the old in it

Our neigbour opposite put his out today. Uh uh. It's tomorrow. Think he snuck it back under cover of darkness when he saw only one other bin was out and they'd probably copied him!
I really don't get the whole bin thing. Maybe it's different elsewhere but in my county the council have a really good website that shows it all very clearly. Obviously, it doesn't stop people asking the obvious question on our town FB site on a frequent basis

Took me 2 mins to check on the council website.
The same people will be throwing a strop on FB when they don’t get their bin emptied,all because Shirley told them the wrong day

I don’t get it either. I have a fool proof and simple way of knowing which bin goes out each week.I really don't get the whole bin thing. Our council don't do bin collections over Christmas.
I've also never seen a bin wagon on the roads post lunchtime at anytime of the year.
Let's face it, it's the ideal job if you like to play a bot of golf.

You’re not wrong there. Friend of the family has been a bin man for his whole working life. He also is a low single figure handicap player that is out in the course or practice ground 5 times a week around lunchtime and plays on weekends.

Opposite for me, when the kids are here like now it’s me and my lad, plus the Mrs and my 2 daughters so massively outnumbered. The only male in the house is the cat and he thinks he owns the place anywayThe Mrs is outnumbered in our house.
