Chips.....

Has to be with gravy. I'm a northerner so I'll have gravy with anything.

What's good is if you have fish and chips with scraps over the top with gravy all over!! Wallop!!! :)

(scraps to the untrained person is the small bits of batter from the fryer)

Works really really well with a battered sausage too.

Oh.... I've lived in the midlands for a bit now and up north you don't really get that many unbattered sausages but here you almost have to preorder a battered sausage if you want one. Very strange.

mmmmm, love scraps and then battered sausage, :) at our local chip and chip shops they have loads of battered sausage and no need to pre-order :) also love potato fritter :)

Hmmmmm

Steak, chips, mushrooms, etc - with gravy all over

Pie and Chips with baked beans - and gravy

Fish and chips - no gravy just salt and vinegar. Optional choice of either brown sauce, or salad cream, NOT both.

Brakfast/brunch, eggs, bacon, sausage, burger, onions, mushrooms, beans, - definitely no gravy, but good with brown, sauce, tomato sause, salad cream, and mustard, preferably all mixed into one colourful mess.

Of course, all this goes into a cocked hat if you bring Branston pickle into the equation.
