My local Indian restaurant makes a 'staff curry', which is a blend of all the spare bits during an evening service, all tossed into a big bowl, then at the end of shift, the staff share it (after the chefs have added their own razzmatazz). It is inevitably spicy and usually the meat is on the bone, which is how they like it. Usually a staff rice is prepared too.

It's only on Fridays and Saturdays, but the owner puts two portions aside for me and I collect on my way past and have it during the week. No charge, as I am a regular at the venue, but I do love a traditional curry and it's kind of habit now.

As for delivery, with the upsurge in third party drivers void of any personality or hygene, I don't bother and on our non dinner at home nights, we go out to eat.

Much rather pick it up myself too, the fees they add on take the mick and it takes ages.

I'm usually already out and picking up take out on my way home
when I order takeout.

I don't do delivery much at all (although our daughter does fairly often, she says).

If I'm going to go out myself, I may as well eat out.

Takeout is mostly something I get when I am out, going home, and don't feel like cooking.
