Chelsea signings

Don't understand. I wonder what's really going on behind the scenes. Sell our best player to a rival, who would better be kicked as hard as poss when they are down? Then Luiz, the worst player in the league, becomes a regular? Such a great deal for Moyes that he doesn't even want to talk about it on tv? S'pose 37m is a huge amount of cash.

You can pay £16mil for someone unproven to sit on the bench - I'll prefer to spend that elsewhere

Yeah like a say Stuart Downing or Jordan Henderson, Barini,Joe Allen.....
All quality proven players:o
Oh & what was the name of that world class striker you signed from Newcastle??

Yes because Chelsea have never wasted any money on any players and your success rate is 100%

We bid £8mil - they wanted £16mil - we walk away - I'm happy with that because I would prefer money spent on areas that need improving.

When did I say Chelsea haven't wasted money?? Every club as wasted money & made bad signings.
& £16m isn't exactly big money at today's prices. Only time will tell if he's good enough. I'm sure Liverpool will have a better player lined up.

He looks like a good prospect. Any better than de bruyne? I'm not so sure. Kinda makes a mockery of Chelsea's claims of self sufficiency. What with people claiming sales of mata and bruyne would level them up. But good for the prem, as the more ex lciting attacjing players the better as far as I'm concerned.

re overpaying in players, I can't think of many worse than Carroll tbh, I think I'd rather have kept Torres and been £15m worse off.
Althiugh my club look to have found a candidate for the scrap heap in Osvaldo!

So it's a bit like glasshouses slating other teams poor signings when your own team has made poor signings and possibly at greater expense

£16mil is always big money to every club bar possibly two in the prem - £16 mil is normally most teams whole budget

As for who we sign - well I'm sure we will find out soon enough but until someone actually signs then it's just gossip so I'm not particularly bothered - I know the areas I would like to improve so missing out on a player most had never heard of I'm nit really bothered

But You do seem to be very interested in Liverpool ? Are you secretly a fan or are you the result of the contrived fake rivalry that was created by Sky during the Jose/Rafa years - the rivalry that was stirred by them during the CC Final and the infamous "ssshh" gesture then stirred again by the CL semi win then again the next season in the FA Cup then again in the CL semi - Sky tried to create a rivalry like we have with both Everton and the Mancs - but it's never going to happen from a Liverpool perspective - with the Bitters it's the close proximity and the history rivals - with the Mancs it's been born of 4 decades of dominating English football between the two clubs and that strive to be the most successful club in England. Chelsea have the rivalry with Spurs and Fulham and West Ham and Arsenal - the London rivalry both on and off the pitch but it will never be there with Liverpool Chelsea - it's just not real - we aren't really bothered

Carroll was an awful signing - at £15mil he could have done ok but £35 was always shocking - as was Keane at £19mil

Torres and Shevchenko at £50mil and £30mil respectively are up there with the worst - along with Veron and Robinho

Clubs have wasted a lot of money - some can afford too some can't

only 5 clubs spent less than 16 mil in 2013.

Even the Saints and cardiff spent over 30 mil each
