Chelsea signings

Did you say he was going to be a star before anyone else then ?

As for the signing of Matic

Not sure why they have bought him but they will make themselves weaker when they sell Mata

Not doing too bad at the moment without playing Mata very much.
I'm sure if Jose needs any advice he'll be straight on the phone to you:thup:

Dylan McGowan watch him he will be priceless in a couple of years.

I heard that said 18 months ago about Andrew Shinnie. In the final three for last season's Scottish Player of the Year. This year he wouldn't make the final 13 in Birmingham's Player of the Year.

Wouldn't waste my breath speaking to that tool

I asked did "you" say he was going to be a star ?

KMDMR1 posted praising him @21.23 on 10th of Jan.
Dodger disagreed
I posted 16.23 on 11th Jan saying he was going to be a star.

I don't have SKY Sports so the game where he played well must have been that evening.
After that game a few posts agreeing with KMDMR1 and myself.

OK

Jings I never expected the Spanish Inquisition.

Ah right - well he is a bit different as he has already been playing in top level prem football and people were highlighting him last year for stardom. I thought you picked him out before the season.

So who is this Mc Guy you mentioned ? Why is he destined for stardom ?

Bet he'll be gutted to hear that:rolleyes:

Does this tit for tat have a point at the end ?

It's clear you're not a fan of my posts yet you always reply looking for some sort of reaction ? Is it not easier just to ignore my posts instead of starting this tit for tat crap ?

Matic will be a decent player, but 25m is a bit too much imo.

Not a CFC fan, but can see Mata leaving just hope he stays in prem, quality player who is genuinely exciting to watch.

CFC need a striker, but they really dropped the ball with Lukaku.

Would I have preferred a striker? Only if he was going to make the team stronger, and I'm not sure there was one available who would have suited Jose's style of play or who would have been eligible for the Champions League, so what point is there? Do we need a striker? Possibly not at the moment, if our midfield were to make better use of some of Torres' runs, rather than looking to pass it through the middle.

Do you not find it frustrating that in a month where you've announced losses and failure to meet your original targets of sustainability you've gone and paid £25 for a player you effectively relapsed a few years back.........

We didn't release him as such, he was part of the deal that brought David Luiz to Chelsea. Whether Luiz now stays is open to speculation.

Also shows why you're so unloved by many too. Spending money and running up huge debt that would cripple you should roman leave isn't idle talk or silly season. And my original question were for thoughts on buying an ex player and not a striker? These aren't rumours. If you have a relevant reply feel free to share.

Whereas every other club in the country is a model of financial propriety, has no debt whatsoever and is loved by everybody? Come on, we're not the only ones. I would prefer it wasn't that way, but unfortunately that's the way it is and I don't see FFP making that much of a difference.

Russia mafia money to buy the title!! Enjoy it boys its all going to end in tears in the end!

Yeah, maybe it will, but going out 10 years ago with a whimper, or going out now after the 10 years we've had under Roman, it's a no brainer really.

Torres, really? To play the 'Torres way' would mean scrapping your clever midfields behind him as he prefers a team to sit deep and launch it forward for him to run onto. Not sure his pace is what is was for that to work, and I've seen him miss plenty of chances to suggest even if you were to chane he's not a top 4 team striker anymore. As for Matic nt officially being free that's true. But effectively you've spent £50m on luiz whilst having matic out on loan? Money aside, does it not worry you that while you do buy and have quite a good youngsters you let them go without having a chance? Matic being a point, de bruyne soon to go too. Sturridge sold and Lukaku out on loan both proving their worth. Chelsea seem to be miss judging quite a few players currently?

Also, I agree that lots of clubs are losing money. I'm not digging at Chelsea, just find it amusing how a team will let a player go then resign for such a fee, making a mockery if their suggestion that they have invested in youth to cut transfer costs down....

Did I??

The correct facts are that I said that he would not be better than Ronaldo as KMDMR1 claimed.

I don't know how much of Chelsea you see but having seen quite a lot of him over the last few years he has made more than enough runs that if our midfield was truly clever, they'd have picked him out more often than they do. Then if he misses all the time I'll agree with you. But I've seen enough to consider that with better service he is still up to it.

Sturridge's ability was never in doubt, his attitude was by all accounts as he considered he should be picked ahead of Drogba as a centre forward and he was somewhat lacking in the tackling department. As I understand it we wanted to keep Lukaku but couldn't offload one of the other strikers. He is still our asset and is probably getting much more playing time under a good manager than he would with us, so probably for the best. From what I saw of De Bruyne I wasn't convinced. Would I prefer that we developed more youth and ran a better ship in that respect? Yes I would, but we are better than we were 10 years ago and hopefully moving in the right direction. A lot of the players we have out on loan are there to get playing experience at a higher level than they would in the reserves or youth, so you could consider that a part of the development plan.

I see your point about Matic, but needs change. At the time we let him go we considered we needed Luiz more so the deal was done. Now that he has developed, we have a need for him and have re-signed him. Who is to say that if he had stayed he would have developed into the player he is now? He stays but we possibly don't have the Matic we have signed and we wouldn't have Luiz; without Luiz would we have had the Champions League win in the absence of Terry & Ivanovich? So many variables, but whether you like Roman's way or not, it does seem to work.

Well I've only been to the bridge twice in recent years as bro in law is a fan. So can only judge from tv. Although I do watch pretty much every sky/bt game so seen a bit. I would agree he does make runs. Instil think if he was as good as you would hope, he'd be finishing enough chances to get double figures each season.

As as to roman it does indeed work. Was just curious of fans thoughts. My bro reckons matic was listed as a cb when at you previously, so maybe at the time they hadn't used him correctly to evaluate him? Either way, I think it's the beginning of the end for lamps which is a shame, but at least he got his record!

If you couldn't offload one of the strikers why did you buy Etoo and send Lukaku on loan ?
