As anyone heard of this comp format? Its a new one to me. My last thread was about string comps. Seems the belfry are trying to distract us from all the work going on by making up weird comps

Quite a popular event in the older days!!

Medal play and you place a flag into the turf when you have hit your final nett shot. eg A 6 handicapper on a par 70 course who completes 18 holes in 73 shots will have three more shots to hit up the first.
The first match out carries the flag [generally attached to a broken club shaft] and anyone past it carries the flag until they have hit their final shot. Generally about the 2nd or 3rd extra hole.
Can be exciting if the flag is 230 yards up the fairway and you have a shot left.
