After Thursdays round we got onto the conversation of our first cars. Mine was an S reg MG midget. She was a beauty. A couple started with Morris Marinas, as did Missis T. We were all in agreement that as kids we had a good choice of sporty cars from MGs to austins, Lancias, escorts Etc Etc. We then Got around to what the kids of today would use as a sporty car, but we just couldn't see it. Audi A1's were mentioned. So what would you do kids have nowadays. What was your first car. What would be your ideal classic ( Fiat 500 for me).

Handed over one hundred and forty hard earnt pounds March '71 in exchange for a Ford Anglia 1200 Super... Insurance was £17... Dad resprayed her Jaguar Regal Red she looked the mutts especially after I had saved up and purchased/fitted some Rostyle wheels...

Not sure I'd be able to still manage to get in or out these days... But, I've always desired owning a Ford GT40...

'78 S reg Fiesta 1.1L
So basic it didn't have a rear wash/wipe and the front washers were "powered" by a squeezy button on the floor...what a POS...but it was my POS!
Always fancied a Lancia Delta Integrale but was always scared it would spend more time in the workshop than on the road...assuming it didn't rust away in front of you..

Started with a '63 Beetle and hope to finish with a 1962 Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder.
There is no prettier car;

An original Mini like the ones driven round the streets of Turin by the chinless wonders. Then progressed on to a classic Fiat X1/9.

1962 minivan with a sticker of Noddy driving his little car on one of the back doors. Key in the ignition and a button on the floor for a starter. Moved on to an Avenger tiger that was a real wolf in sheep's clothing

First car was a mini with central pushbutton start and a front grill that let in water stalling the car when it went through a puddle. Best was a Ford Anglia 105E with a maroon stripe across the roof, the bees knees!

First car was an 850 mini, floor starter etc. In maroon, with maroon vinyl seats that were like a cooker when parked in the sun.

Dream car? I am pretty happy with my current drive, but if pushed would go for a Mercedes SSK Count Trossi. There is only one, and it is owned by Ralph Lauren.

My first car was a 1965 Austin A40 bought in 1973 for £5. I spent all summer restoring it and I ran it for over six years. You didn't need a speedometer as you knew how fast you were going by what was rattling! Since then I have only owned a handful of cars, but I am lucky enough to own my dream car.

First car was a G reg Ford Fiesta XR2i in red with 'massive' 14" pepperpots. For what was a top line motor it was basic as hell. Grey plastic dash, terrible tape deck, wind up windows and no power steering.

Classic would be a Mercedes CLK GTR Supersport from late 90s.

My first car was a brand new fiesta 1.4 zetec in 2000.... Fortunately my mate worked for ford at the time so did it for cost price + £1 and I got the free insurance.

My ideal classic .... I'd love an early 90s escort cosworth.

My dad worked in the car industry his whole life and my older brothers are all petrol heads, so I have loads of cars I'd like.

My first car was a C reg VW Polo (have always had vans so never needed a car untill parenthood was imminent.
Dream car would be a Ferrari 365 GTB/4, other wise known as the Ferrari Daytona, and if I can't have one of them lush things I'll settle for a Dodge Viper:)
