Maybe its because im only 3 years into learning the game but im so wrapped up in it i always wonder how good i could be if i took it up at a young age.....

When i was young the game was well out of reach of me...Growing up in a council estate and having working class parents golf was at that time a game only for professional people with comfortable well paid jobs...

Now it is more accessible for the average Joe like me....

I never seem to tire of the game....Always searching for a better way to play it and really enjoying the challenge....
Im very disciplined and driven and i will one day maintain a low handicap...Thats my goal....
Im tired after my round today but next weekend cant come quick enough for me to relish the challenge....
I look forward to practicing during the week and even the rain doesnt deter me...It would really have to be bucketing down to put the anchors on me...Even on the nights i cant get to the course for whatever reason im out the back garden small as it is chipping with my 52 and 56 wedges....

Playing footie since i was 8 up until the injuries iv had the past 3 years has given me a new challenge....

I suppose one could say that im obsessed by the game or even infatuated by it...

I would even go so far as to say that it is the greatest game on earth i love it that much..

I played Thursday, Friday and today. (And went to the range Saturday)

I'm playing tomorrow, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

So, that's a "no" from me, I reckon!

I took it up at 10 and got good vry quickly thanks to tuition and spending every daylight hour at the club working on my game and playing. Was an assistant pro for a year an played a couple of assistant pro events. The other guys were different gravy. It became apparent very clearly that I was a big fish in my localised pool at the club but was a tiny minnow against even my local contemporaries. I knew there and then I didn't have what it took and when I couldn't get onto the PGA course I jack ed it all infor a few years.

Its only now with a good coach that has made my swing simpler in 2012 that I can try and get close to what I think my potential is and back to single figures. Never going to be anything other than an adequate player but I'll take that these days

Are you me in disguise ?

That pretty much sums it up for me 2, played football all my days and started golf about 4 years ago when I hung the boots up. Canny get enough although HID seems to prevent me from getting out as much.

Worst thing for me is a Sat night when its a full week till the next medal...

Same here. I was lucky enough to get into it as a 12 year old, living 500 metres from a course where membership for juniors was $120 (and members were looked after very well) and was able to scrap together an assorted set of clubs for about another $100 all funded by working at the courses driving range... money well spent considering I used to spend every daylight hour there until I was about 17. Got down to single figures by the time I was about 15 but not much better than that and then got frustrated and was too impatient to work on my swing and more or less gave it away. Took it up again fairly seriously about a year ago thanks to my girlfriend's father being a golf nut and now I'm completely obsessed again. A bit of maturity has helped and I take the time to work on my weaknesses and don't mind the bad days so much and enjoy the good ones far more. I feel like I'm a far better player all round these days, but just don't seem to hole the chips and long putts which accounted for the good scores I would shoot as a kid from time to time. Golf is by far the best sport in the world and one in which all of us can set ourselves tangible goals to work towards. The only problem will ever be the lack of time to practice for me. I just got home from the course and can't wait for next Saturday so I can hit balls again.
