my thought is a big part of Tiger's winning formula was that all the others were intimidated by him. When it came to the final round, they probably did not believe that they could beat him. Now that they have tasted success, that intimidation factor has gone away.

Of course he could, Jack's spot on.

Will he? On the balance of probability, taking everything into account, I wouldn't bet more than the price of a pint; and I would expect very long odds at that!

Don't think he'll beat Nicklaus but I wouldn't be surprised if he got a few more. I hope he does although even if he doesn't no one can deny he has had an amazing career.

No. He can all but count out the 2017 majors as it would take him a full year to get back to the required level to compete.

After that, as some have said, the field is too good for him to win another 5 majors. He might get one or two if he stays fit but not 5.

I hope he won't too.. no doubt he's a great player, one of the best ever but I don't like his lack of etiquette and I prefer Jack's appreciation of the game and its history, rather than the compulsion to win and make money.

To me, spitting, swearing and slamming a club after a bad shot has no place in the game.. he just can't see that.

No chance. He's not got a major in him. He'll probably compete well in one, probably Augusta but too many younger players have moved the game on again from his heyday. I think he's stuck where he is.

I doubt he will win more majors, but that should not be the sole measure of his career
Vardon Trophies, Pga wins, World Golf championship wins.

I think Tigers CAREER is the most impressive already

I absolutely agree, they keep talking about how amazing a season DJ had and how he dominated, he had what 3 wins, Tiger used to play 18 events and had a 10 win season maybe two, that is how you dominate a sport.

I just had a quick look

Rory has won 13 tournaments on the pga tour including 4 majors

From January 2000 to April 2001 Tiger Woods had 13 PGA tour wins including 4 majors.

Before you talk about the NEXT TIGER, remember how good he was!

Big time, I've never been a Tiger fan (not a hater by any means) but the people he attracts is unbelievable. Watched him win the Open at st Andrews in 2005 and we couldnt get near him at all. Likewise when at Muirfield in 2013, on the Saturday when he was in contention the crowds around him were unreal.

Like him or not, he's probably the greatest talent the game has seen regardless of where his major and PGA win record may finish.

People keep saying this, but I just don't agree. How has the game moved on exactly?

Tiger still hits it as far as everyone else, he hit some bombs last night, his problems are with injuries then as a result consistency and direction, and that's nothing to do with anyone else. The game hasn't moved on, Tiger's just not been playing. If he can stay fit and find some consistency he can definitely compete. If Jim Furyk can still compete, Padraig Harrington can still win tournaments, and Zack Johnson can still win majors so can Tiger Woods. The key for Tiger is stringing together tourmaments and avoiding injuries. Last time he did that he won 5 times in a season and had two Top 10's in the majors. He can definitely still compete, he just needs to stay healthy and get his consistency back.
