Can I improve my handicap?

Not convinced it’s the rights stats to compare. A tour pro pitching from 30 yds is doing it because they missed the green (probably from a long shot distance) so they would be having a difficult lie most likely.

A better stat would be Approaches from within 100 yds which is your avg 17’ and best is 13’.

Which is between 4-6% of the total distance and way better than 9’ from 30 yds would let you to believe.
Approaches from within 100 yds is not a good stat because there is no concept of what the distribution of those approaches are many may be very close to the green.
Lou Stagners chart of tour pros from the fairway shows the median distance from 50 yds is about 12 feet.
The big caveat is that even from 50 yds they are possibly often not directly targeting the pin because the pins may be very close to the edge.

Close to the edge and often on a little shelf.
Not forgetting it's harder to get check on the ball from 30yds than 50yds.
Plus, many (not all) of the greens amateurs play on are fairly flat so easier to control distance.
Plus, many (not all) of the greens amateurs play on run about 8-9 on the stimp so easier to stop the ball.
So amateurs playing from 50yds to a flat, slow green is not a difficult shot after a bit of practice.
And also don't forget, you don't need a 300yrd range and 100 balls to practice this shot. An umbrella, a few wedges, a dozen balls and any bit of grass 50-100yds will do.

For a 50 yard pitch, I am looking at leaving a two putt. Or a chip and putt. So l, within a circle of 12 meters around the flag. (Although not always aiming at the flag)
