Can a 2 ball playing matchplay play with 2 ball playing medal?

Any rule against that?! Don’t want to go out as a two in the middle of a busy 4 ball run, could we play our match while the other two in our group play the comp?

With the change in the Rules from 2019 players are now allowed to play both a stroke competition and a match play competition concurrently. So ther would not be a problem in my opinion

When players request to combine match play and stroke play

If a Committee chooses to allow players to play a match while competing in a stroke-play competition, it is recommended that the players be advised that the Rules for stroke play apply throughout. For example, no concessions are allowed and if one player plays out of turn, the other does not have the option of recalling the stroke.

There is no issue with the rules. The new rule is only about the same players playing a match and medal at the same time.
Two playing a match and a different two playing medal is not a problem.

It's not in the general rules - it comes under Committee Procedures, section 6C.

I don't see any issue with that, if only two of a four ball choose to pay up and enter a comp then that's their choice, the other two are free to do as they wish.

Only restriction I can see against this is if the club only lets players who have paid a comp fee play at those tee times.

I wasn’t sure about that which is why I asked, what I mean is it’s good to know you can now also play comp as long as it’s stroke play rules, no intention of it but good to know in case someone asks as it’s often an issue towards deadline day 👍🏻

Is it permissible for player A to concede a putt for the hole result in match-play and Player B still putts out for hole result in stroke-play?

Providing both players complete the hole, I see no problem.

I only allow 2 ball KO's to go out and play a stableford. If a 2 ball match is playing with another player who is just in the stableford then there can be a disproportionate advantage for 1 player who is getting reads on the greens for their match.
