So I've got £180 on my account with Direct Golf and a lack of love with my hybrid and driver. I'm going to the Golf East show next weekend and plan on testing a few different brands. So if you were me (i.e. after control over distance and a penetrating flight) what driver/hybrid would you be testing?

I've just brought a bushnell V2, I can't stop the spending! New irons, hybrid, range finder.. Just sold my old irons and getting rid of trolley so may have enough for a d2!!

I am turning into a Cobra tart,I think they still make the best hybrids too, check em out,Baffler T or Amp,they are both sweet! As for a driver god knows, just try as many as you can mate, have a good time.

G20, Cobra AMP, R11????

Depends on what you like and hit the best! That's the line I would be going down.

Hybrid wise I love my white headed TM thingymajig!

Philly you tart ;)

Tough choice Tiger as so many decent clubs around these days. Maybe the Ping G20 range.

I do fancy the RBZ 3 wood myself but my Cleveland goes like a rocket so its staying in the bag (hit a te shot 240 today with the easiest of swings :) )

Hit as many as you can and go with what looks and feels right for you. Myabe try on another occasion aswell once you have whittled it down as what works with the swing one day may not the next

I cant comment on the Driver Tiger as its not really a decent part of my game but what i can give you some insight on is the Hybrid...Like you i had the G15 but i couldn't hit the thing out of my way....

I wanted to stay with Ping so traded it for a 21 degree i15....
If you want distance, control, and an easy to hit club the has a more penetrating flight than most give one of them a bash...You wont regret it...

You should get em pretty cheap too.

I'm becoming a Callaway whore as I now have Diablo Edge 3 and 5 woods in the bag and I love them. Easy to hit, straight and good distance too.
I know they won't have these on test as they are 2 years old but the range is really good. Have a crack with the latest incarnations.
Now I want to find the driver to go with the woods but want to test it first.

They can all hit the ball straight for about 270yards ++. Can you?????

I always love the 'you play off a high handicap so really all your problems are down to your swing' mentality ;)

As my swing has improved the offset on the G15 hybrid has turned it into a hook machine and through a lesson with my pro we identified that the shaft on my driver may be a little on the soft side impacting on my dispersion.

I hit the ball far enough to not care about distance finding longer clubs I can control is much more important. In my defence I am not a chopper and changer both my driver and hybrid are the only ones I have owned and have persevered with them both. In fact the only clubs I have ever changed in my bag are my wedges and I'm playing much better with the new ones...

My advice would be to try and look at what was the best thing since sliced bread in terms of drivers and hybrids 2 years ago.

Try a few and buy the one you like.

Or if you must go with new then the Razr from Callaway seem good. I hit 3 balls with one last night and all three went further than my driver which is a Ping Rapture with a posh shaft in it that I can never remember the name of. I think the Razr was called the "Fit" model?

My only other observation would be to view a pro (who sells clubs) advising you that you need a different shaft, with an element of healthy scepticism!

Having been burnt by this in the past I know exactly what you mean. In her defence we focused on changing elements of my swing before we would even consider a new purchase. She may still say I need to do more work but the video still of me at impact with the driver shaft bent like a string of spaghetti kind of told it's own story ;)

Will give the Razr a bash amongst others

go to a pro with a full trackman set up and hit as many clubs you can,and don't be fooled into thinking the newest all singing and dancing ones are going to be the best for you, an open mind is better than an empty wallet!!

Bravo that man. Having went to AG recently for a hybrid and tried all the latest and greatest only to walk out with a TM Burner SF from a couple of years ago as it was the best out of them all for me. And a snip at £90 (IIRC) compared to the Amp and RBZ.
