Why don't they just do away with the Open and replace it with the Players Championship?
That way, all the Majors would be in America and we wouldn't have to worry about it any more

A good Open on a great golf course. I was there for the week and witnessed the scoring on Thursday morning when there was not a breath of wind and even I would have been licking my chops at the thought of going out in that weather and I also witnessed the chopping about on the Friday when to be frank the wind was no worse than any given day at my home club but the pampered men were moaning and greeting about it.

One guy played out of his skin and the rest didn't exactly shoot the lights out did they?

Anyone who reckons the Old Course is poor is either a)Someone who knows hee haw about golf in general or b)On the wind up.

On a seperate note some of those carries to the fairways were bloody long.....17 to get over the sheds looked a big knock and 4 to reach the middle of the fairway took even Quiros a healthy knock and many didn't make it.....easy my arse!

Yes this year's Open was less exciting but you can't blame neither the course nor the winner.
Luis took advantage of favourable conditions the first 2 days but there were at least 50 players who played in similar conditions and didnt threat him.
A player winning comfortably after going into the final round with a 7 shot lead may not be exciting to watch but it makes pitfalls like Greg's at Augusta more dramatic. Btw imo Tiger's wins in 05 and 06 didnt glue me to my chair either.
