Just wondering how many people have to book tee times at their private members club that they play at? There is no tee booking system at my club apart from on competition days. The tee does have certain block bookings for other groups within the club during the week. It has been brought up a couple of times at the AGM about bringing this in but no one wants it. We have membership of 753 at present and only have the one 18 hole course. Everyone knows what groups play at what times at the weekend and it works perfectly fine.

So do you have to book tee times at your club? What is your opinion on it?

Book by phone to the starter no more than 48hrs in advance or just turn up & wait

I had to join a muni this year where this is set up & have to say it seems far better to have both options over clubs where no booking system exists:
*No-one can block book slots
*You can still plan your day pre/post golf
*If free time come up you can still roll-up to play
*& because its done over phone the Starter can give latest info on course, bookings etc (i.e there's three 4-balls out in front if you want that time etc rather than faceless online booking

Being pay and play our place operates 10 day day in advance tee bookings but Saturdays and Sundays up to 12 are kept for cardholders only.
Never really any issues as most groups have their set times and everyone knows who will be out and at what time, 1 4ball goes out first every saturday and sunday and even the captain let them go first on his captains day because they actually play extremely fast golf. 18 holes in about 2.5hrs maximum so they would not be holding anyone up but would be held up themselves otherwise.
