Fastest finger first. Booking tee times

I don’t use a script 🤷‍♂️

I’m more than capable enough to book a tee time without one

But I’m not silly enough to not understand that there are many ways to ensure that someone gets the tee time they want

Same here. I can't remember not getting a time I've wanted even on a weekend in the depths of winter. It really doesn't take any effort, even at a club with 600+ members.

However, it is immoral and unfair to use a system that not everyone has access to. The way of the world I guess.

The thing is everyone can get access to a script - it’s on the internet, there are companies that you can even pay to do it etc

Everyone does have access to an agent system if they choose to.

I wonder if anyone has read the terms & conditions covering use of their tee booking website/app?
Good question, no idea where to find ours.

Is there a general IG (for example) set of T&Cs?

Would using an agent, script, bot whatever typically be a breach or is it something that a club should/could add?

In IG there is a “pop up or message” you can set up which can be used for any T&C’s

We don’t have any tee time booking rules beyond restrictions on when someone can book a tee time

A script is just auto-complete with bells on. Using auto-complete gives you a speed advantage over someone who chooses not to. Is anyone arguing against the use of auto-complete?
If a club decided they want to ban scripts, they would need a lawyer to draw up the definitions, or most of their members would be breaking it every time they made an online booking.

All ISV systems have terms and conditions covering things like their use/misuse, authorised/unauthorised access, etc.
Probably open to interpretation, but at least some of the things being suggested here would likely be covered.

Club V1 terms and conditions do not mention anything about use of AI agents, scripts or other automated ways of booking.

The best way to ensure you are not breaking any rules would be to write to the committee, tell them what you are doing, and ask them to confirm it is acceptable to them. Why don't you do that? Let us know how you get on please.

All our club says in their T's and C's is...

All golf sessions must be booked by you in advance. (Tee times will be available at 8pm 7 days in advance for all Membership tiers) We have the right to refuse you access to the golf course where a prior booking has not been made by you. Deliberate abuse of the booking system may result in suspension or termination of your Membership.

I know that one person has left the club as a result of mis-use of the IG tee booking system in the couple of years or so that we have had it.

I have read and fully understand the terms and conditions for both my club and V1. I am 100% confident I am not breaking any rules.

Given the lack of competence shown by our committee over recent years. I am also quite confident they wouldn’t understand our terms and conditions.

Polite and respectful as always 🤣
They signed contracts for works to the clubhouse that were less than favourable because one of the committee is a builder and knows about contracts. When asked directly at an EGM why we didn’t seek professional advice. Apparently it was felt we didn’t need to waste money doing so because Dave had read the contract.

Respect is earned, not universally given. I will be polite even if I am suggesting you are incompetent.

Am surprised the pro shop is ok with you using an automated tool to book. Do you think the committee and the members would also be ok with it if they knew?
I agree.
Isn’t this sort of Bot being banned when it comes to concert tickets and driving tests.
Slightly different scenario as it’s for personal use .

Think the comittiee know this is happening but what can they do it’s not illegal.
