Board Comps - Your Club's Qualifying Rules

Should add a good 17 H/C :smirk:.

Ok put it this way, would you play the +3 guy of bare feet [ not to mention your legs] :smirk: every week for money. He should be giving you 7 shots so , he's a bandit .

The group of guys i play with most weeks include one + handicap 2 scratch and a 2 and 3 handicap. We always play bare feet... even when i was off 9 we still played bare feet, admittedly i didn't win very often, but when i did, i let them know they had lost to someone who was sheer hite;)

Would I ,

I disagree with a lot of the stuff on here. For me, honour boards, are an integral fabric of the club. We only have a handful of individual "majors" and a few pairs events where the winners are recognised and one of those is the club championship (net and gross).

If a club has a board with the gross champion on it and a board with the handicap champion on it, who is the club champion ?

The one that says Club Champion

The other board normally says Handicap Champ

We do have a club handicap champion, but he doesn't get a board.

mind you we did have a new board go up in the clubhouse, one of the big windows got blown out by the wind on Friday night;)

It is what it is.

If winning the Easter Medal is good enough to get your name in golf letters who am I to question it. I'd rather get a Smarties Egg!

It's 5 qualifiers at mine. I joined in mid year and played in club champs in Sep, and loved it. We have club champs for best gross and lowest net and they both get their names on the board.

Those that will never be in contention for the best gross like the idea of lowest net and it is fiercely competed, I wouldn't run around naked if I won lowest net though as I would winning lowest gross, which is the true test.

I won a comp a few weeks ago and a guy playing off 3 said to me, for him to win that day he'd have had to shoot -3, so the good guys don't get a look in most weeks of the year, I can imagine their frustration.
