Just back in from playing a round this morning.

My initial delight that the greenkeepers actually deemed the course to be fit enough to open for play was then somewhat tempered when I got up to the holes near the top of the course where the wind was so strong that the long pin on the 12th green was almost bent horizontal!! It was almost impossible to stand up and you could actually see your ball moving on the green before you addressed it. Lost count of the number of times my bag blew over during the last few holes.

Still, beats going to Tesco's with the wife!!

It's incredibly frustrating to see what you figure is a great approach shot suddenly change direction in mid-air and land well away from the intended target. I was compensating for the wind, but not enough it seems!

Yeh Dodger, played Royal Musselburgh first light and after a few holes it was blowing quite hard. By the last few it was strong enough to blow over the trolley….three times. Still managed to break 80 gross by one shot.

I remember playing Bude and North Cornwall on a day like that. I was staying at the Inn on the Green behind the par 3 4th and from my bedroom I could see the top of the flag nearly hitting the ground as the wind blwe it almost in half. Only plays about 150 yards from memory and I think I hit a little 5 wood into the wind to get it there.
