black taylormade r11

TM can't ever make a black driver again.
Their Big Boss Man has come out and said that the "best" colour for a driver is white. If they go back to black they'll be making a huge face-losing U-turn.

Wanna buy TM drivers? Prepare to buy white.

It does look good in black though - almost good enough for me to want one....

They are a business after all so if some people don't like the White but will buy a black one and there are enough they will produce one, money talks etc.

I doubt even TM would rush such a big U turn out so soon after the launch of the white model. I thought white was their way forward and being different in the market (there more sales in theory) and can't see all those that have got a white version being overly thrilled to see a more conventional black model suprecede it already

Can't see it. Too much marketing has gone into tm's White range. Also was in AG looking yesterday and looked at the d2 and d3. Speaking to their assistant he reckons the r11 has outsold both 910's combined at a rate of 10:1. Not according to this forum but he was 100% convinced that the r11 is more popular.

Have to admit, I have seen more R11s than 910s at my club. I can think of about a dozen blokes with it off the top of my head and only about two with 910s.

I don't think the black R11 (if there is one) would be to supercede the white one, I think it would just be an alternative finish for the "purists" out there who have an aversion to white drivers (or those who simply don't like them).

I would think that if there's a demand for a black R11, they would provide one, as it would give them a bigger customer base, but I would think they will still heavily market the white.

The R11 might very well be outselling the 910 and is "more popular", but that to me suggests a better marketing campaign (haven't noticed Titleist wrapping their driver adverts around other forums ;) ) by TM and people still believing Titleists are for "good" players only.

What it doesn't mean is that it's a better driver.
