Bit of a weird one as it's only just started (and I don't remember downloading anything that might have changed things).....
When I click on a link or website, nothing happens much on the first click. Page takes an age to load.
If I then immediately go back and click on the same link again it loads instantly.

That'll be because all the images are saved in your cache for future usage!

Best thing to try to do is

1. Upgrade the browser, I use google chrome
2. If latest version, clear its browsing history
3. Use ccleaner or the systems disk clean up to remove all temporary Internet files

Rob, are you using Internet explorer?
If so try resetting it

Start, control panel, Internet options, advanced, reset,
Follow it through

Shout back if you use a different browser

Its likely to be something to do with Flash Player

go to the adobe Flash player download site and get the latest version

(stick"Flash Player" into your search engine

Watching this thread.. havent seen such a problem.. So keen to see how Dr Frags will go about his diagnosis.

(the page loads quickly the second time is because it is reloading from cache. so wouldnt read too much into it)

Fragger, I had a Acer Aspire 6920g and my daughter dropped it and broke the screen. Anyway we've made a claim on the insurance we had and they've decided to pay us out.

Can you recommend me a good laptop for gaming/ surfing the web, music etc?

I'd like a Mac book but not too sure they're worth the extra outlay.

I would prefer something similar to what I had but I'm considering a Mac book.

Stuart, I have the same laptop and the screen broke, just about to claim also, daughter knocked it off the dining table grrrr.

Shame cos its a great spec but 3 yrs old now so wonder if they will repair or replace as its a 16.4" screen so not standard.

Anyway apols to op, back on track :)

Our insurance have decided to pay us out, I paid £650 in 2008 and I've had probs with it whatsoever apart from my daughter dropping it whilst playing on friv!

Good luck with the claim, ours has only took 4months
