I'm normally happy with 1 a round... Over the moon with 2. Today I bagged 4!! How many birdies do you think each handicap level should realistically be looking at getting and what's the most you've ever had in a round?

I had 3 today. stuck it within 6 feet on two par 3s and rolled in a 12footer or so on a par 4.

played a bit crap for the most part though.

I usually pick up one or two a round. very rarely go a full 18 without one dropping.

I remember looking at my stats last year and I averaged one a round in comp play.

One of my Achilles Heels - my birdie conversion isn't good enough. I'm not a Birdie Machine at all....
Averaging 1 per round but 1 from 8 or 9 chances doesn't cut it for me..
Ok a couple of those will be outside chances (20ft+) but I certainly don't sink enough from 10-15 feet.
I've had 5 in a round before and once began a Comp with 3 in a row

I played West Midlands today and had 1 Birdie (Par 5), really should have been two or three but my putting was naff. Can't remember how many I've had in 1 round but I've gone back to back birdies through 2 tricky holes on the PGA which I was pleased with.

Been thinking about this recently, I have been giving myself so many chances in the last few weeks, 4 today, 5 last week and 4 the week before, all inside 10 feet, i've made 1. Today 3 lipped out and one stopped an inch short. I don't feel I'm hitting bad putts, they just aren't going in.

3 birdies and 1 eagle in a round is my best. I had 4 the other week playing with the old man, it was quite funny as I had a bad front nine and had dropped a few, I said 'I can't play -2 on the back so in a comp it would be over' I had 3 on the back and left one an inch short on 18 which ment I would have played the back nine in -2. This just Proved to me what I already knew I play my best golf when I am relaxed and play with freedom.

I average 1 or 2 a usually if I am playing to around my handicap.

Similar to me Mike - 2 Friday's back I had 6 or 7 "Brazilians"....

Pretty much 1 a round - I'm actually still 6 ahead of rounds this year.

Most I've had is 5 - birdie-ing all the Par 3s on the front at The Shire. That round was probably the biggest 'could have been' this year!

Thing is Ian , I'm starting to question myself. I could easily have smashed my PB the last few weeks but every missed chance is putting pressure on me not to make mistakes which I am going to do, a couple of birdies, even 1 would give me some leeway.

There's only so long you can keep missing putts and convince yourself your luck will change. Maybe I'm not as good a putter as I thought I was

Same here, don't convert the chances I have so I average about 1 every 3 rounds. Very frustrating!

I genearally average around seven or eight birdies ........................................ per year!
Seriously, probably averaging one every couple of round but once got four in five holes at Bramley GC.
I birdied 11th, 12th, par on 13th, birdies on 14th and 15th and then finished the round with three triples!
Gotta love the game.

Slime.

bagged 2 today but had previously been 5 rounds without one

most I've had is 3 birdies and an eagle, in a row (-5 for 4 holes, never managed to repeat it) and also birdied x4 par 3's on one round

I make a lot of tap in par's but recently started getting closer with my approaches so my expectations are starting to increase

As long as I get one a round I'm happy, two would be great and anymore would make me ecstatic

I made 33 in 18 rounds (1.83 per round) before I stopped counting earlier this year.

Most ever is 8.

Most in a round this year, 5.
