I've decided that I may buy a bike to try and up my fitness level and my last, not often used, penny farthing has long since gone. So, I probably fancy a fairly cheap road bike to ride round the village etc and only when its dry 😉

Anyone any printable suggestions?

Halfords, reasonably priced so you don't feel to guilty when you decide it was a stupid idea and park it in the shed next to mine.

I would go for a hybrid rather than a road bike. Mine has flat bars and carbon forks. Easy to cycle (like a road bike), and it's not like you will be using drop handle bars at your age.

What kind of money are you looking at?

I'd suggest a hybrid....a little more comfortable riding position and ok on gravel tracks as well as road.

The Btwin range in Decathlon offer good VFM, I've got a triban 540 hybrid although I think they dropped that model and only go up to the 520 now.
