Best time for playing on your own

Not much of a early monring person. I like to play on a weekend evening if playing by myself, there's hardly anyone to be seen

Well I got to the course at 07.30 only a 2 ball ahead , got thru them at the 5th and then millionaires golf from there on

Absolutely bloody brilliant despite the rain ! Out in 47 due an 8 home in 39 due sheer brilliance if I could play like that all the time I would achieve my goal of single figures

Sunday afternoons best at my course. Hardly anyone around unless there's been a comp on even then its just folk finishing up. Mornings during the week good if you get down before 9, after 9 its a hard time to get a game with the seniors and lady's all going out.

In the evening is best at our place as they dont let people really go out till 7.30 and obviously that is heavily booked up. Best plan on an evening can be to go around 7pm in the middle of summer because on your own you can generally get round in two hours with no hold ups whereas if you go at 6pm you do get a few more people early on which isn't bad but you catch up the fourballs who teed off at like 4.30 who dont always let you through so close to the end.

Can't see the point of playing on your own . surely golf should be a social game played in good company. ?

The point. (Several points)

1. Over 3 miles of beautiful serene peace and quiet. Work at my place and you'll understand.
2. You can drop balls. Re work shots. Try the other shot you first thought of.
3. If you get to 6 or 12 and you fancy it. You can walk in. You don't need to ask your mate
4. I have a 100% record of not losing playing solo golf.
5. You get off the couch and out of the house for 3-4 hours at a moments notice.Live at my house and you'll understand.
6. I have no friends. :mmm:

Solo Summer golf at 5.30am or pm is a thing to be treasured.

I agree with Five&One, you can't beat a little bit of solo time out on the course when nobody is around.

Amble along at your own pace.
Drop an extra ball, or 2, and try something different at specific holes that frustrate you.
Try various awkward chip shots with different clubs around specific raised greens you tend to miss.
Place balls around greens to remember specific breaks for the future and concentrate on 2 putts maximum.
I can do a loop of 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 10 or more, once I get to the 13th your committed to complete the back 9 though so I can be as quick or as long as I want the session to be.
Far better than just thrashing a bucket of balls at the range.
No distractions
Sometimes I carry odd clubs (irons) only and then switch to evens, helps me learn to manufacture shots, I even practice low punch shots from the edge of our tree's under low branches, it will happen in a match so well worth practising!
