best round yet... getting there slowly :)

just got back from 18 at South Beds Warden Hill Course, par 64 and went round in 87 for 41 stableford points with no blobs

Very happy with the total and parred 3 of the par 3's, missed 5 birdie putts so had the chances. My ball striking felt very hit and miss and a few that felt mishit ended up in excellent positions. I took my driver and although a bit wayward the extra distance off the tee really helped, longest was only 210 but as I am swinging it easy to avoid a massive slice I know I can get a lot better.

One thing I did do better was course management, no hero shots and when out of position played a short iron back onto the fairway. Also played any off the green shots with the hybrid putting method, worked a charm

anyway am having a beer as in 4 months of playing my 1st ever round (a 136!!!!) I feel I have deserved it

A much bigger improvement than myself.........gone from around 115 worst to best of 95.

yeah but Kev, next time out I will no doubt get a golfing kick in the nutz

I would no doubt be in the mid 90's on a full par 72 course so dont really count it as a proper sub 90.

the main thing I have found is each time I have a lesson, goto the range or play a round I feel more comfortable and confident, again no doubt that wont last forever
