Tried to see if this had been done before but couldn’t find any past threads.

GM have just released this article, some legendary clubs in the line but some imo are debatable.

Best clubs of all time (Probably)

I don’t think the Callaway Steelhead+ is anywhere near this bracket of clubs, I had one and hated it!

Hard to argue with the Putters as they were literally game changers. Then there’s the TP9 irons, quite possibly the most stunning club I’ve ever seen. My dad had them and I was always so jealous.

Haven't read the article but assume the original Callaway Big Bertha irons and Ping Eye 2 irons will be on the list as will the Ping Anser putter and original Odyssey 2 ball putter.

Nike SQ. The noise! Your drive off the first tee announced to the whole course (and a few neighbouring ones) that you’d arrived. Your drive off the 2nd was silent - because you were deaf after drive no. 1.
I had one the sounds was like smashing a ball with a frying pan. To this day still one of my 2 favourite drivers I’ve ever owned.

Couldn’t miss a fairway with it, used to play medal rounds with my dad he hated it because the sound, but hated even more that he always had to say “good shot “ as another fairway was found 🤣

Wish I still had it might sort my driving issues out!

I played my best golf with TP-9 irons, even though I was just a low/mid teen h/cap.

I am thinking of getting them out again - have used 3 or 4 other Mizuno iron sets since, but not had the same love.

I think I hit them above my paygrade just because they were so beautiful to look down on.

I also still play with a Steelhead 3W quite often.

I have never found a better 3 wood than the Steelhead Plus. I loved that club!

Was that the square head? Possibly the shortest driver made in the modern era. I remember playing with folk who had one. Middle of the fairway at about 7 iron distance. 😂

There was 2 versions a normal head shape and a Square one. I never tried the Square (maybe that sacrifices distance or they had the wrong set up) i had the normal head. I never lost a bit of distance with it, quite the opposite it was a bomber and a ridiculous fairway finder.

Still got it?

Yes, I was talking about the square one.

Sadly not! I was playing a medal round years ago with it absolutely nailed one on the 3rd hole and ball flew and so did the head! Shaft snapped at impact right where the kick point was. Don’t know why I didn’t just get it reshafted, ended up switching to a Ping G20 after that which was decent but it wasn’t on par with the Nike.

Clubs that I possess - some on the list and some should be

Maxfli Australian Blade 3-SW (early version from 1970s)
Ping Eye2 BeCu 3-SW (I also have a steel head 1-iron)
Great Big Bertha Warbird
Acushnet Bullseye
John Letters Golden Goose

Ray Cook M1-X3 Putter !
That was my first putter, borrowed from a friend's mother at the time.

Unfortunately, she wanted it back at some point. It took me years to find another one in equally good condition ! 🙄

I love it, especially the sound when you hit the ball just right: it's like a little bell that makes a quiet but audible “PING !“ ! 😊

I still play with it from time to time just to enjoy the sound ! ❤️
