I played at Berkhamsted GC last week and thoroughly enjoyed it. A terrific club with a lovely course. No bunkers apart from the one on the practice ground!

You get a real sense of space when you play here and I can recommend it completely. Reminds me a little of Piltdown in Sussex too.

Some very good holes and excellent condition. 6th and 9th stick in the memory as stand out holes. The other overriding impression I got was that course management is crucial here. You can't just crack a driver down the middle - far from it. Consequently, it is a course that you need to either play with a member, or a few times before you are really in a position to post a decent round. Well worth a trip. Food was good too.

Cheers,

Snelly.

This is one of the courses we looked at last year when trying to pick one to join, it is the closest to me but in the end it was more money than we wanted to spend, it is well thought of around here though. The word we got was it was a little snooty but I think things can always look like that from the outside.
