Beer rant

Fine if you like lager, not such a good idea if you prefer ale and non-gassy beers.

If I want fizz and bubbles I will drink champagne.

Not at all.

Kozal,Weissbier,Dunkel to name but a few that are not gassy if you find the right one.

The creme de le creme was discovered a couple of weeks back on my trip to Prague.....http://www.unetickypivovar.cz/o-pivu 12 is the best pivo I have supped...ever.

I like a good pint of real ale, preferably with a proper head. Actually, I prefer several pints:D My local Wetherspoons do decent beers on occasion but some of their staff wouldn't know a decent pint if they were doing backstroke in it whilst whistling Dixie

Not sure you can hold Weatherspoons up as a paragon of good beer keeping. Its all about turnover and not having it hanging around long. Find a good local that keep a good pint and know how to pour it

They're not all bad. Try a pint in the Moon Under Water in Manchester, a massive pub on Deansgate. Smashing !!!!

My local is a heaven for good beer, they have their own brewery and stock fifteen different ales, a number of lagers and ciders. It has been top national pub of the year three times recently. They certainly know how to keep and pour a pint!

Heres their web site:

My local Wetherspoons has had the same guv'nor since it opened well over twenty years ago... Takes a bit of pride in what he does and how his staff deal with joe public... Can't say I've ever had a bad pint there and it's CAMRA listed... Plus it's only a few paces away from the bus stop to get me home...

I popped into local Weatherspoons at lunch time today and had a delicious pint. Clean and fresh and £1.75. Ruddles Best, not the finest you can buy but very enjoyable. Nurtherners should realise that proper beer is not lager, and it should not be cold, and it should not be smooth, it should be bitter.
