Posted back in July about how I broke 100 after joining my first club three months earlier. Now, around 12 months after hitting a golf ball for the first time I've shot my personal best of 86. Previous best was 94, and I've hovered around mid 90's for the past few months. Carded a total of 6 pars and 1 birdie, on the par 5 7th at my local club. Needless to say I'm absolutely delighted, although I'm not looking forward to the inevitable blow up on my next round!

Thanks everyone. Can't stop looking at the scorecard, picking faults and thinking, if only I didn't do this or that it would have been lower. Think it may be time to invest in a driver, using 3 wood off the tee I'm losing yards.

excellent, what does that take your handicap down to now?

I don't actually have a handicap yet. Might sound silly but haven't handed any cards in or entered any comps at my club for fear of hacking the place up or falling to pieces.
