Declares "I'll just blob this hole but keep playing it anyhow"...

Is this considered practice on the course?

What is Maximum Score golf - that's a new one on me...never heard of it though I can guess what it might well be...

Any player who has already taken the maximum of shots (inc penalties etc) for the hole (specific to each hole or as applied for every hole?) picks up. Stops players keeping going after already racking up a big number on a hole - but I've never before heard of the format.

Its something that came out in the new rules in 2019....the committee can specify the maximum number of strokes a player can take on any hole....e.g Par + 5 strokes

21.2 Maximum Score
a. Overview of Maximum Score
Maximum Score is a form of stroke play where a player’s or side’s score for a hole is capped at a maximum number of strokes set by the Committee, such as two times par, a fixed number or net double bogey.........................

Mainly intended for competitions for very high handicappers

I need a lie down after that ?
Only thing missing was the OP coming back with some acknowledgement at the end.
It was comical, the question was answered immediately but the OP wouldn't have it.
I'd like to think he made a grovelling apology to the wronged golfer. but i somehow doubt it....
