Did anyone notice on the 3rd play off hole of the Open Zack Johnsons caddie Fluff was clearly seen replacing ZJ's ball on the green and picking up the marker. Johnson had previously marked his 4th shot.
I thought the person who marks the ball should be the same person who replaces the ball or a 2 shot penalty applies!!!!!

Another golfing myth!

Do keep up with the current rules.

Oh, and welcome to the forum.

Zach Johnson's caddy is Damon Green - a fairly handy golfer himself!

And while there was a time when it was only the person who marked it could replace it, the rules have changed to a much more sensible (imo) style.

Played with a guy on Sunday who most of the time (unless on someones line) marked his ball by sticking his pitch-mark repairer into the green about an inch to the right of his ball. Nothing wrong with that but looked odd when I spotted it first time.

its wouldn't matter if Fluff picked his ball up and didn't bother to mark it, he's Jim Furyk's caddie so Zak would have been able to replace the ball where it was without penalty as the ball was moved by an outside agency
