According to this article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volvo_World_Match_Play_Championship it was only the "HSBC" world matchplay championship from 2003 to 2007, so, assuming it is a player, you could maybe narrow it down to players who competed in those years?

Looked up the signatures of all the players who played in the matchplays from 2003 to 2007 and none of them match that hat.

I saw these when I played at HG a couple of weeks ago, what a great idea you had, our centenary was also 2013 but we had nothing similar to reflect it

It helped having a mate who works for Callaway so is at all the big comps in the uk who also knows a lot of the players.

Unfortunately this signature does not appear to be amongst the ones we have on display at my club.
