North West Winter Course

Can anyone recommend a course in the north west with good drainage that doesn’t insist on fairway mats in winter please?

I've a mate that plays at Stand Golf Club, it's supposed to excellent in the winter.

Ring Blundells Hill Golf Club, Rainhill (edge of Liverpool and St Helens), J7 M62. Built on sandstone hills...... I used to be a member there and drains really quickly

Old links is on mats now - first year they've done it.

I believe Fairhaven is full course though, or it was when my mates played it a few weeks back.

Duxbury near Chorley is never on mats.

The drainage is better than it used to be, but it's still bad in winter.

We've had two holes shut most of the winter. Mats have been optional. Huge rainfall has had the course shut loads though.

My mistake - yes they did say it was 16 holes. I assume it's the two over near the cemetery?

Fantastic course BTW, you're very lucky to be a member there. My favourite on the Fylde coast by far.

Yes, it is those two and yes we think so as well.
