Are you obsessed with golf?

Hi, I'm Jim, and I'm addicted to Golf.

I tend to find sports, throw my entire everything into them and then after a year or so I get bored and move on.

It started with Kiteboarding, was obsessed I spent loads, sold everything a few years later at a HUGE loss and moved onto the next thing, Fly Fishing (although I still do this regularly I'm not as obsessed anymore).

Then I got into mountain biking, spent £1000's on it, sold most of it at a loss.

Now Golf has my fancy, for some reason though, I don't know what it is, but I just enjoy it so much more than anything else. I think the main thing I like is, you can actually see improvements in black and white on a piece of paper. I always like getting good at thing but for some reason at Golf I just find the challenge of Golf so much more enjoyable than any other sports.

Got a 9 hole tomorrow morning, and a 18 hole on Monday. Some range time on Sunday too.

My and is Adrian and I a golf Junkie.

I always need my fix and will go to great lengths to do it. When I run out of YouTube Videos of Pete Finch and Rick Shiels, I've been known to go to my lowest point and watch Mark Crossfield.

I sit looking at all the latest gear from manufacturers websites, I look on EBay just to get a glimpse of something I haven't seen before. I watch TV with IPad in hand playing WGT, as I need that little something to get through the day.

As as a kid during the summer holidays, my mum would drop me off on her way to work. I would get 18 in first thing before the senior go out. I would find another game early afternoon, then my dad would meet me there at about 5:00pm to pick me up, but not before we slipped another cheeky 18 in.

A new new box of Pro V1 or food, I have enough fat store to get through the day, but I can't live without my shiny new balls :o.

When I buy a car I take my golf clubs with me to make sure they will fit in the boot, then I look to see if there is room for the kids in the back seat.

For 24 years I have been addicted, many arguments with my first wife happened over golf. The only way I will truly get the fix I need is to give up work, do the US PGA apprentaship and become a head Pro somewhere.

I believe I am.
Still get up to the club twice a week at least to practice, arrive as early as 6.15am or
there to 8 with my son after tea.
Spend hours on a golf forum.
Spend ages looking at online websites.
Hours watching Vlogs or instruction videos.
Always wanting my next comp to come round quicker.
Travel miles for a game so yes addicted.

Can I buy your stuff at a loss when you get bored? :D

ok so im new to golf proper, i played twice a year for the last dozen years or so.. but decided i needed to do something in october last year. I play cricket alot, and love it, i play football i loved it, and cant play as much anymore. Ive played soooooo much golf in the last 6 months any normal person would think i was totally bonkers. My missus definitely thinks im mad. Ive thought about giving up cricket to play more golf, and I was very close. Instead tomorrow im getting up at 6am to play golf before i play cricket. Then im playing in the Sunday morning comp down at the club. Then im practicing monday, then im playing tuesday with a mate. Yes Im addicted. Yes i expect to be divorced by september.....

No, not any more.

40+yrs ago I played every day, sometimes 3 rounds in a day and hours of practice. 30+yrs ago it used to be 5 or 6 rounds a week. 15yrs ago it was 3 or 4 rounds a week. In recent yrs its been 3 or 4 rounds a month.

In recent months, after getting close on 50yrs of frustration I'm thinking its time to give it up. I love a good shot, and a good round but that feeling is gone when I walk off the course. I don't have that urge to talk about the round when I'm back in the bar, although I'm happy to talk about the course. Hopefully the warm weather will rekindle that spark.

Yes, play whenever I can and make up a whole host of brilliant excuses for not coming home on time to HID. I know I should not lie but cannot bear the constant moaning for spending too much time at the course as I get that anyway and she only knows of about half the time i am actually there! Besides if she did find out I'm sure she would be pleased I am only unfaithful with my true love. . . Golf!!!
