Obviously, the large majority of us on here are golf fanatics, otherwise we wouldn't be on here, but are you truly obsessed/addicted to golf?

I am fine to say 'My name is Sam, and i am a golf addict'.

I've been playing for 16years out of the 28 i've been on this planet and i play to a reasonable standard, but my love for the sport is getting out of control. Following a conversation with HID (around the amount of golf i am playing this season), I admitted to her that i wake up thinking about golf, and i go to bed thinking about golf.

whether its watching, practicing, buying, reviewing, googling - Its all golf!

Please tell me others are like me?

I'm the same. Constantly on Youtube watching golf videos, on here and GolfWRX, play every night it's dry, and if it's not dry, then I'll usually be at the range. I'm completely obsessed, I love it. I've got a bit of an addictive personality. Before golf I was addicted to Football, then cricket, but I didn't love either as much as I love golf.

I have only been back playing for 14-18 months after around 13 years off.....never played to a good standard & still don't.

But every bit of spare time is spent looking up instruction videos, fun videos (like trick shots etc), reading reviews etc.

Also, I plan my weekends around going to the range or getting out on the course. Any days off I have I plan to get out with the clubs in some form or other.

So, no, you are not alone.

I find golf like a drug.

It can give you the worst hours of your life a you hack about a course, ball hunting & trying to get that little white ball to go into a little hole. But you make those few "great" shots & the buzz is back. You want more & more.......

thank god!!

Absolutely! I stopped playing at 19 and came back at 29. 1 year on and it's all I think about. The missus says I would be happier without her and just golf. Sometimes it's hard to argue........

Amen.

I cant wait until my little boy is old enough to play, then i can cut her adrift :D only joking.

No kids as yet however I fully see the benefit of it. ' You have the day off darling, I'll take him out for a few hours.' with the clubs in tow.

They get free membership at my club too, its got a 9 hole pitch & Putt which will become home for us :)

assuing he likes golf that is. how could he not?

Thankfully I have other things in my life that stop me from being obsessed. I don't have a club membership because I have a season ticket at Bradford, I dj on a weekend and I'm currently studying so have college work that takes up a far bit of my time too.

Oh and I have a family that I need to spend some time with at some point (as the wife says)

Totally obsessed with it.

Even when I hate it and think about quitting, I know deep down I won't because I wouldn't be able to.

To think, 5 years ago it was up there with cricket for me, in that I couldn't stand watching it, and the thought of playing it filled me with dread.

I've only been playing 6 months and can hand on heart say I spend all day everyday wishing I was on the course. Already been given a polite talking too at work for the constant golf talk and sneaky web searches. Counting down the days till my first golf holiday of the year down in Devon. Already booked on Royal North Devon and Bude.
